  • Bergen Bike Bus Open Letter to NYC Leaders

The children, students, families, educators, community members, and friends of the Bergen Bike Bus have issued an open letter to New York City’s leadership urging them to make proactive safety improvements and permanent changes to the streetscape of Bergen and Dean Streets and its nearby schools to ensure children have safe daily access to walking and biking to-and-from school whenever they choose.

  • Build the Bergen & Dean Bike Boulevards

Join the Bergen Bike Bus’ kiddos, families, and community; Transportation Alternatives; and a coalition of organizations urging NYC DOT to make Brooklyn streets safer for all, but in particular kids and their people, by building the Bergen and Dean Bike Boulevards, which are crucial bike corridors in the borough. Consider signing and / or sharing!

  • Safer Streets for Kids

Respectfully, we ask that you consider signing this petition and sharing it with your school's PTA. Traffic deaths are preventable and New York political leaders need to do more to prevent them. Please join the “Make Brooklyn Streets Safe for Kids and All Pedestrians” campaign, administered by a Brooklyn dad (Eli Pariser), in calling for action from leadership on this issue.

  • Affordable Biking for NYC Students

Please join us by adding your name to Transportation Alternatives' Youth Committee's petition that seeks to establish a flat rate of $5 per month for NYC's Public High School and CUNY students (ages 16 and older). NYC students deserve affordable transportation options and Citi Bike should be one of them! (If you have questions, do not hesitate to connect, send your email to: youth@transalt.org)

  • Streets for People

Opponents of the Vanderbilt Open Streets and the Underhill Bike Boulevard are calling for their discontinuation. Consider adding your name to Transportation Alternatives’ campaign in support of preserving these amazing street initiatives alive and going for their communities.
